2021: first experiments with overshot patterns, taken from a 19th century book on weaving patterns.
Sketchbook pages, archival research.

A 19th century American coverlet (Rose of Sharon) found as part of my research which I decided to reverse engineer, first creating a digital file of the pattern, followed by woven samples and eventually creating a limited edition of blankets which were handwoven for retail.
Full sized replicas woven in two panels, joined traditionally with a whip stitch. Further experimentation with fringes.

Further sampling in overshot, experimenting with colour and materials on Snail's Trail draft.
